Hartford Convention delegates arrive in Washington, D.C.
January 31, 1815
(Jan.) Harrison Gray Otis, Thomas Handasyd Perkins, and William Sullivan deliver grievances that have arisen over the War of 1812. However, they arrive shortly after news of the victory in the Battle of New Orleans and the signing of the Treaty of Ghent are received. Although President James Madison refuses to meet with them, their resolutions are read into the Congressional, tabled on March 3, 1815.
